Marvel has revealed Ryan Gosling as the next Ghost Rider at Comic Con.
The film is set to be released in 2028, and will be the third film made about the character.
The first was released in 2007 which starring Nicolas Cage, and its follow-up film in 2011, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
The news of the upcoming film was announced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con.
Feige said that he was often asked when Gosling would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Feige welcomed Gosling on stage at the San Diego Convention Center.
Speaking about the new role Gosling said, "wow, is this really happening? As you know, this is a character I've wanted to play for a very long time."
Shawn Levy will serve as director of the film, who Gosling described as the "only" director for the film.
"As Ryan started talking about his vision for this character, we started riffing, and I finally said, 'Bro, let's ride'. So guys, we'll see you in 2028," Levy said at this year's Comic Con.
