A woman in her 60s is in critical condition following two crashes on the Munster road within minutes.
Yesterday at 2.30pm Gardai were dealing with a serious road accident on the Cork-Kerry border when emergency services were needed to a second major accident in Co Limerick.
Two major road incidents occurred on Irish roads yesterday within the space of 15 minutes.
The woman involved in the second crash in Limerick is currently fighting for her life in hospital. She was taken to University Hospital Limerick following the two vehicle crash at Uregare Cross in Bruff at around 2.45pm on Thursday afternoon.
The driver of the second car was a man in his 50s, he was taken to the same hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles at Uregare Cross, Bruff, Co. Limerick.The incident occurred at approximately 2:45pm Thursday 27th August 2026."
"A male driver of vehicle 1 (aged in his 50s) was brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A female driver of vehicle 2 (aged in her 60s) was brought to University Hospital Limerick where she remains in critical condition," the statement continued.
