A child remains in hospital following an attack on a house in Co Tyrone, which saw a man killed.
This incident saw a man sustain serious injuries, and declared dead at the scene, while the young boy was taken to hospital in Belfast, where he remains critically ill, and treated for serious injuries.
It was also reported that a woman was being treated for non life threatening injuries, and was later released from hospital.
Police and paramedics had responded to the scene at a house on Lisnahull Road in the town, when a neighbour had reported hearing a woman screaming for help.
A teenage boy was also arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, remaining in police custody.
Speaking about this incident, the PSNI have said that Murder Investigation Team detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surround the man's death.
"The cause of the man's death has not yet been formally established and post-mortem examinations will take place in due course", Detective Inspector Robinson said. "A male, who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, remains in custody".
"As such, it would be inappropriate to comment further and I would ask that the public avoid speculation until we can provide further updates".
"However, I want to reassure the public that we do not believe that there is any ongoing risk, and at this stage we are not seeking anyone else in relation to the death".
"Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of those involved". (All quotes according to RTÉ).
