Gogglebox Ireland returns to Virgin Media PLAY and Virgin Media One tonight at 9pm, with the nation’s favourite households back on the sofa for another week of laughs, lively debates and unforgettable TV reactions.
This week sees the arrival of a brand-new household from Ballymun, featuring The Traitors Ireland star Carla, her partner Chloe, her brother Craig and his partner Jahrea.
Having swapped the Traitors castle for the comfort of their own sofa, the close-knit group are ready to give their honest opinions on the biggest moments on television.
Carla may have made her mark on The Traitors Ireland, but when it comes to watching TV, she and Chloe are fans of crime and drama, with Chicago PD and SWAT among their favourite shows. Jahrea is a devoted Friends fan, while football-mad Craig names The Inbetweeners as his all-time favourite.
Speaking about joining Gogglebox Ireland, Carla said she was “absolutely buzzing” to be taking part, describing the show as one of her favourites and saying she was “honoured” to be sharing the sofa with her brother, partner and friend.
There is plenty more happening across the country this week, with the Gogglebox households reacting to a packed line-up of programmes.
In Shannon, brothers Shane and Conor debate the age-old question of whether they would rather be sticky or wet, before tuning into Ireland AM for an unusual Viennetta-eating challenge involving Tommy Bowe and a world record holder. Inspired by what they see, Carlow friends Gregg, Jon, Eric and Johnny decide to test themselves.
In Donegal, sisters Barbara and Janet discuss the importance of medical screenings before witnessing a major blunder unfold in The Celebrity Traitors.
Meanwhile, Dundalk couple David and Sarah look back on the many countries they have visited together before watching Virgin Media Television’s Deepfake Ireland with Gráinne Seoige.
In Dublin’s Liberties, Tracey and Anita react to the treatment of Molly Malone before discovering what Netflix’s Wonka: Golden Ticket has in store.
Elsewhere, Dawn and Dale in Cork discuss an unusual lipstick hack before reacting to scenes of unrest in Belfast on Blue Lights, while Athy’s Des Grufferty shares his grooming routine before some ambitious designs on Grand Designs leave him unimpressed.
The episode also features celebrity hauntings, a debate about shower towels and a final helping of The 2 Johnnies’ Late Night Lock In.
Gogglebox Ireland Season 12 continues tonight, Wednesday October 7, at 9pm on Virgin Media PLAY and Virgin Media One.
