Love Island's Samie Elishi and Tyrique Hyde raised a few eyebrows when they revealed that they are expecting their first child together this week, after six months of dating.

The couple got together officially in April 2026, not long after Samie won the All Stars series alongside Ciaran Davies.

Samie and the Welsh rugby star split in March, and it was around the same time Tyrique admitted he decided to 'shoot his shot' and made a play for Samie.

They announced that a baby was on the way by showing off Samie's pregnancy test and their first ultrasound scan.

Tyrique added a personal note on his profile, writing: 'Don’t make a scene. Can’t wait for this next chapter... Love you @Samie Elishi.'

Famous faces from the Love Island world like Molly Smith, Millie Court, Olivia Attwood, Tasha Ghouri, and Chris Hughes flooded them with messages of congratulations - but not everybody was positive.

Lots of Love Island fans quickly shared their own posts, pointing out how new Samie and Tyrique's relationship is and how she only won All Stars a matter of months ago with another man.

Now, Samie has addressed the outpouring of opinions, sharing a short message that read: 'Thank you for all the love we’ve received in the past 24 hours; appreciate you all.

'This world can be an ugly, scary place at times, especially with social media & millions of opinions; it’s not always right, but sadly it’s the way it is.

'However, the good always outweighs the bad; we’re so blessed and happy right now. All your lovely comments and messages haven’t gone unnoticed.'

Samie and Tyrique's relationship got off to a controversial start, as they went public following the Love Island All Star's split from Ciaran Davies, who she won the show with.

The couple ended things very quickly after leaving the villa, causing many people to speculate about their timeline.

Tyrique clarified that they did not speak while she was in the villa and officially committed during a holiday to Morocco in the spring.

Ciaran revealed that the relationship officially ended over a phone call while Samie was away on an influencer brand trip in New York City.

The fan favourite Welshman made it clear that the breakup was not mutual and that he had tried to initiate contact multiple times before she finally called it off.
