"I thought this was it, you had a wonderful life Tommy, but it's over now," he said.

The 'It's Not Unusual' singer explained that he initially thought he had the flu, but his condition quickly deteriorated.

"And then they had to get the paramedics in, and I was like I can't breathe," he recalled.

Jones spent two days in the intensive care unit at UCLA Medical Center before being discharged.

Praising the hospital staff, he told the audience: "UCLA did a wonderful job, so I'm here."

He also revealed that he was determined to get back on stage, telling medical staff: "I've got to get back on the stage. This is where I belong."

He has since postponed his Thursday concert at Yaamava' Resort & Casino in Highland, California, to Friday, November 6, following medical advice to take another day to rest.

Tickets for the original performance will remain valid for the rescheduled show, with refunds available for those unable to attend.
