Stevie Wonder has addressed long-standing rumours that he is not actually blind.
The music legend has delivered a heartfelt speech at his show in Cardiff last week, where he addressed these rumours which have questioned his blindness, having jokingly referred to this speculation before.
While on stage in Cardiff last week, Stevie Wonder said the following.
“I must say to all of you, something that I was thinking, ‘When did I want to let the world know this?’ But I wanted to say it right now", he stated. While accepting that there had been rumours about his blindness, Stevie Wonder added: “Seriously, you know the truth".
“Truth is, shortly after my birth, I became blind,” the singer added. “Now, that was a blessing because it’s allowed me to see the world in the vision of truth, of sight. See people in the spirit of them, not how they look. Not what colour they are, but what colour is their spirit?”.
