Kelly Clarkson has sold part of her music catalogue to investment company, HarbourView Equity Partners.
The singer has chosen to sell some of her well known hits, including Since U Been Gone, Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You), Because Of You, and Behind These Hazel Eyes to the investment firm, who are focused on music, media, sports and entertainment industries.
"My music is such a huge part of my journey – not just professionally, but personally. Knowing these songs will continue to be heard and discovered by new generations means everything to me. I’m grateful to HarbourView for valuing and supporting this catalogue the way they do", Clarkson said in a statement.
Speaking about this, HarvbourView's CEO Sherrese Clarke said the company is delighted to have agreed a deal with Clarkson.
"Kelly Clarkson is a one-of-a-kind artist whose voice and songwriting have left a permanent mark on music and pop culture. In addition to her musical genius, Kelly is a multi-hyphenate in entertainment, which is very aligned with our platform at HarbourView which invests across the broad entertainment segment", Clarke stated.
Last month, Kelly Clarkson also revealed that she wrote her Christmas hit, Underneath The Tree from her 2013 album, Wrapped in Red. She said that she wrote this song between ordering sushi and her food arriving. More on this here.
