The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) have nominated Cillian Murphy for his performance in Oppenheimer.

Fresh from his Golden Globes triumph for Best Actor, Murphy has now received a nod from the SAG for his role in the same film, directed by Christopher Nolan.

Murphy has been nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role category for his performance in Oppenheimer, with the winners of these awards a strong candidate to win at the corresponding Oscars.

The winner of the SAG Award in Murphy's Best Actor category has gone on to win the Oscar 23 times since 1995.

This year's awards see Oppenheimer and Barbie lead the way regarding nominations with four apiece. Succession leads the way with television nominations with five.
