Elton John is to bring Hollywood star Taron Eagerton out onto the stage for his Glastonbury slot, it has emerged.

The music legend will take to the stage on the final night of the festival (June 25), as he concludes his mammoth Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

Speaking ahead of the show, Elton John promised fans a performance like they had never seen before.

“I’m starting with a song I haven’t played for about 10 years, so we’ll see how it goes”, Elton said.  “I’ve got the set list down, I’ve got rehearsal dates booked for the guest artists, so we just have to hope the weather will still be nice”.

It has since emerged that Elton is to introduce Taron Eagerton to the stage, a man who played him in the 2019 biopic, Rocketman.

“The final plans are being kept a closely guarded secret but rehearsals are taking place and Elton has planned an entirely new set, different from the one on his tour, for the show", a source said.

Elton John was intially scheduled to conclude this tour in 2021, however it has been prolonged due to the Covid Pandemic, as well as undergoing hip surgery.
