Seven people have died in crashes since Thursday.

The most recent of those in Limerick in the early hours of this morning.

Two people died in a crash on the M50 in Dublin on Friday, an incident Gardai begged the public not to share images of.

Assistant Commissioner at the Roads Policing Division, Paula Hillman, says everyone needs to look out for one another: "This is a worrying trend for us. We are very much focused on those families who have lost loved ones over this weekend. But this year, as well, our road deaths have increased with 77 people killed on our roads. It is every day when we are on the road: drivers, motorcyclist, pedestrians, cyclists...that we all look out for one another."
