Irish Stars In Talks About Maggie O'Farrell Adaption

Irish actors Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley are in talks to star in a major screen adaption of Maggie O'Farrell's bestseller Hamnet.

The film which is to be directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao (Nomadland), is to also explore the life of William Shakespeare's wife Agnes, as she struggles to come to terms with the death of her only son Hamnet.

Hamnet is to reportedly, chart "the emotional, familial and artistic consequences of that loss, bringing to life a human and heart-stopping story as the backdrop to the creation of The Bard's Hamlet", according to Deadline.

Deadline have also reported that author Maggie O'Farrell will also adapt her novel for the screen alongside Cholé Zhao.
