Singer and songwriter Gary Barlow has admitted that he remains "angry" over his baby daughter's death in 2012.

Barlow who shares three children with his wife Dawn Andrews, lost their baby daughter Poppy who was delivered stillborn on August 4, 2012. The couple shared 22 year old son Daniel, as well as daughters Emily, 19, and 13 year old Daisy.

The singer was also set to perform at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London, just days later.

Speaking on the Imperfects podcast, the Take That singer admitted that he struggles to come to terms with this tragic loss, 12 years on.

"I haven't really found peace with it yet", he revealed.  "I don't talk about this in great detail and I literally don't because I'm still kind of figuring it out a little bit".

Barlow added that the pain was so overwhelming that it led to the couple splitting up. However, they eventually leaned on one another, and grew stronger because of it.

Explaining that Dawn's emotions were "completely different" to his, Barlow added, 'I think it comes down to men deal with it differently than the women do".

"My wife does far better than I do, she's a much stronger person than I am. She's really been amazing throughout it".

"one of the lucky couples"

On how it affected their children, Gary Barlow stated, "We're one of the lucky couples because for us it's brought us ever closer together and we do have three other children as well and that's helped us".

The singer explained that their youngest daughter Daisy "wasn't affected at all by it", but that Daniel and Emily "still talk about it a lot".

"I guess it's made me stronger, I think so", Gary admits. "I think things like that have to, don't they? There was definitely a point where I wondered if we'd ever be back to where we were before but I think we have got there".

Paying tribute to his wife, Gary Barlow said,  "She's really special, really special. She's a no nonsense mum", while praising her for '[bringing their] kids up' while he 'travels all around the world".

He added, "She's done a brilliant job. Everyone who meets our kids always says how great they are".

Gary Barlow and Dawn Andrews have been married since 2000.
