A man is fighting for his life in hospital following an assault at his home in Clane, County Kildare.
Gardai say a man aged in his 50s was seriously assaulted by two men at a residence in The Avenue area of Abbeylands in Clane at 20 past 11 yesterday morning.
The two attackers later fled the scene on foot.
The injured man was taken to Tallaght University Hospital where he is currently in a critical condition.
The scene was preserved for technical examination and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Naas Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident, or to any person with information, to come forward. In particular anyone with dash cam footage from 11am to 11:30.
