Four more members of the K-Pop group BTS have been conscripted into the South Korean military.

All seven members of the boy band are now either serving in the military or about to begin service.

Most able-bodied men are required to give 18 months military service in South Korea by the time they are 28 years old.

A bill was passed by South Korea’s parliament in 2020 allowing those who “excel in popular culture and art” to defer their service until the age of 30.

“We would like to inform our fans that RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook have initiated the military enlistment process,” the band’s record label BIGHIT Music said in a statement.

“The artists are preparing to fulfill their military service duties. We will inform you of further updates in due course.

“We ask you for your continued love and support for RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook until they complete their military service and safely return. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artists,” it added.

BTS are now on hiatus and due to reform in 2025.

The label said it has been planning the correct time for the bands seven members, RM, Jin, V, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin and Jungkook, to complete their military obligations in order “to respect the needs of the country and for these healthy young men,” adding that the time was “now.”
