Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Reach Custody Agreement

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have announced a temporary custody agreement for their two daughters.

The pair shared the news in a joint statement:

"After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents," they said.

Musician, Jonas (34) and Game of Thrones actor, Turner (27) married each other in Las Vegas on 1^st May 2019. They began dating in 2016 and have two daughters, aged three and one.

As per the agreement, obtained by People magazine, the children will stay with Turner between 9^th and 21^st October. They will then stay with Jonas until 2^nd November.

Custody will continue to be split until 7^th January, with the children spending Thanksgiving with their father and Christmas with their mother.

Since the current agreement only extends to 7^th January, the former couple must “jointly submit a status report letter” by 23^rd December, outlining the status of mediation at that time.

Jonas and Turner announced their divorce on 6^th September in a joint statement on social media:

 “After four years of wonderful marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.

“There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

Turner subsequently sued Jonas for the wrongful retention of their children. She claimed that Jonas had withheld their passports, meaning the children could not travel to Turner's home in England.

Jonas dismissed the allegation at the time, insisting the pair had agreed to work on a co-parenting plan.

The initial divorce filing made reference to such a plan:

"A parenting plan should be established, which addresses all parenting issues and contains a timesharing schedule providing for frequent and continuing contact with both parties. The children have been residing with their father in Miami and other locations throughout the United States."
