ABBA singer Agnetha Faltskog has revealed plans to release a solo album.

The singer who formed part of the iconic pop group ABBA, alongside Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, confirmed that this new album would premiere today (August 31). She also confirmed that the album would include a new single titled 'Where Do We Go From Here'.

In 2021, ABBA announced their return with a comeback album Voyage, which included singles 'Don't Shut Me Down', and 'I Still Have Faith In You'. The band had previously represented their native Norway in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest, which propelled them to global superstardom.

Faltskog had previously tweeted that a solo album was on the horizon, writing on Instagram, "So... where do we go from here?".

Following ABBA's split in 1982, Faltskog continued to release solo albums.

The album will be called 'A+', and will arrive on October 13.

The album is a reimagined version of her 2023 album 'A', which celebrates it 10 year anniversary.

Speaking about how it may sound in 2023, if it was created with producer Jörgen Elofsson, Faltskog who worked on the new album with Anton ‘Hybrid’ Mårtensson, kept the original vocals from 2013, but added new music for this year's release.

“A couple of years ago I heard one of the songs from my last album ‘A’ on the radio. I have lots of fond memories from making that album, so I couldn’t help but smile, time flies…,”, the singer wrote in a letter to her fans.

“Suddenly it hit me, what would the album sound like if we had made it today…? I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I reached out to the boys who produced ‘A’ back in 2013 – ‘What would you guys think about reimagining ‘A’ and making a totally new version of it?’ They loved the idea! ‘Let’s try!'”.

“A while later I heard the first reworked song, and I must say I absolutely loved it! It sounded so fresh and modern, even better than I had imagined it!", she added.

“We named the album A+ and as a cherry on top we even recorded a brand new song! And that will be the first thing you´ll hear from me. Now I can’t wait to hear what you think about it! I hope you like it as much as I do!”.

Producer Elofsson also added, “When we made the album ‘A’ ten years ago, it was a bit of a reaction against EDM and the dance music that dominated the pop world at the time".
