Taylor Swift Fans "Nervous" As Tickets Go On Sale Tomorrow

Ahead of tomorrow's sale of tickets for her much anticipated Eras Tour, Taylor Swift fans are reportedly "nervous".

Final tickets for this tour will go on sale tomorrow (July 20), including her three nights at Dublin's Aviva Stadium, which take place across June 28-30 next year. Ticket sale times for these shows are staggered, with tickets going on sale for June 28 at 11am tomorrow, sale for June 29 at 1pm, and June 30 sale of tickets at 3pm.

According to Ticketmaster, "tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis while currently available inventory lasts" and that "waiting rooms will open 30 minutes before sales commence".

Given the recent history on the subject of buying concert tickets for Taylor Swift's shows, maybe fans have a right to be "nervous" about tomorrow. As one fan phrased it, "There is no stress like Taylor Swift ticket-buying stress". 

Earlier this month, fans of the US singer who are also known as Swifties, were informed they had to pre-register to purchase tickets via Ticketmaster, in order to be granted access to these tickets.

Previously, this led to problems in France, where ticket sales for Swift's Eras Tour were halted due to issues on the site.

Those that registered were also informed that they would receive a unique code which would allow them to access tickets on the site. However, after going live, the site began to crash, and sales were halted. A new date for ticket sales was subsequently confirmed by the site online.

Fans who have registered, will also receive a code, granting them access to tickets, or they have been placed on a waiting list.

"an uphill battle"

Having spoken about the stress of buying a ticket for a Taylor Swift show, one fan Claire also added, "It might feel like an uphill battle because demand is so high. It's really necessary to put pre-sales and pre-registrations in place so Ticketmaster can cope with that demand. It might feel like we're jumping through hoops to get tickets but there's a reason for it and fingers crossed we all get tickets". 

Another Swiftie, Rory, has said that he hopes to be moved off the waiting list, or get a ticket from somebody.

"I'm quite nervous but optimistic... I don't care where I'm sitting, where I'm standing, I'll take a ticket for anywhere. I've been a fan of Taylor's since 2006 and I've been to every tour, I'm a massive Swiftie, so it's quite nerve-wrecking", he said.

"With regards to Ticketmaster, it's ridiculous, it should've been connected to people's streaming to see who is a massive fan, and those people should get tickets, as opposed to random selection". 

Meanwhile, Éadaoin, stated that she would be "devastated" if she was unable to get a ticket.

"It fills me with dread, I'm not going to lie. I'm sure the majority of people would be devastated, and unfortunately that's how ticket resellers are so successful, they target the real fans who are really upset that they couldn't get tickets", she said. "I would be desperate to get them if I couldn't go. I really hope the way they've done ticket sales this time reduces the resellers".
