Taylor Swift has announced a surprise release of a secret "double album" expansion of The Tortured Poets Department.

Having announced the 16 song of her 11th studio album, Swift has also announced an expanded version with a further 15 songs, naming it The Anthology.

The US singer shared the album's artwork on social media, showing her with one arm wrapped around her head and her other caressing her face.

"It's a 2am surprise: The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album", Swift wrote. "I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second instalment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs".

"And now the story isn’t mine anymore … it’s all yours".

Swift had announced the release of her initial 16 track album, which also includes collaborations with Florence + The Machine, and Post Malone. The singer unveiled this album at midnight ET on Friday.

This original album appeared to have been leaked online 24 hours prior to its scheduled release, so the new tracks are believed to have not been heard before.
