It has been confirmed that Taylor Swift's new album 'The Tortured Poets Department' was streamed 300 million times in one day over the weekend.
The US popstar who released this as part of a double album alongside The Anthology last week, has broken a new record for the most streamed album in one day, a record which was previously held by her recorded version of '1989'.
Confirming this news, Spotify shared this on social media, “History made! On April 19, 2024, Taylor Swift’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ was the first album in Spotify history to have over 300M streams in a single day".

The streaming service also revealed that Swift's single 'Fortnight' which featured Post Malone, also made a new record for the most streams in one day.
