Drugs And Cash Worth More Than 1.5 Million Euro Seized In Counties Kildare And Meath

Gardai made the discoveries as part of an operation targeting street dealing across the country.

Gardai in Kildare searched a number of properties in Newbridge yesterday afternoon, as part of Operation Tara, targeting drug trafficking networks.

At one location, around 240-thousand euro of cocaine and 1-point-2 million euro of cannabis was found.

Suspected mixing agents and other drug paraphernalia were also seized.

Gardai in Co. Meath also working as part of the operation, seized almost 40-thousand euro in cash after they intercepted a vehicle on the M1 yesterday morning.

The driver of the car who was aged in his 20s was arrested, and taken to Ashbourne Garda Station for questioning.

He can be detained for up to 7 days.
