Niall Horan is to become the latest star to feature Francis Bourgeois' Channel Four digital series Trainspotting.

The former One Direction singer will add his name to a list of celebrities to have joined the TikTok personality for a spot of trainspotting, with previous guests including footballers Alisha Lehmann and Jesse Lingard, along with Irish comedian Aisling Bea, British singer Sam Ryder, AJ Tracey, as well as British Olympian Tom Daley.

This latest episode of the series will see Horan meet Bourgeois at London's Liverpool Street Station, where the Mulligar native will speak about his personal connection with the railway.

Several train cancellations and delays forced the pair to ditch their initial plans of visiting Harlow Town, leading them to rethink their plans.

"My grandad was actually a train driver… he did Dublin to Sligo, which was his thing", Horan tells Bourgeois of his personal connection to trains. "My dad tells me that he drove the train in the old movie The Great Train Robbery".

Niall Horan was later asked to perform a live cover of his latest single 'Heaven' on board a vintage Class 117.

You will be able to check out this episode on Channel Four's Entertainment YouTube channel from tomorrow (June 14).
