The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival returns in full swing from Thursday, 23 October to Monday, 27 October 2025 in Cork City, marking its 47th edition. Over the decades, the festival has evolved from a pure jazz event into a wide-ranging celebration of music, now featuring everything from soul and funk to hip-hop and electronic sounds.

Organisers have promised their “biggest programme yet,” with more ticketed shows, an extra day added, and an expanded Music Trail spreading across more than 70 venues in Cork City, Douglas and Kinsale.

Among the major names performing this year are Cymande, JP Cooper, The Pharcyde, Orchestra Baobab, Lee Fields & The Expressions, and Jeff Mills, who will perform his acclaimed live project Tomorrow Comes The Harvest. Cork’s Triskel Arts Centre will host performances by Melina Malone, Chip Wickham, Daniel Herskedal Trio, and Norma Winstone & Glauco Venier, among others.

The line-up reflects the festival’s growing musical diversity — while jazz remains at its heart, audiences can expect an eclectic mix of sounds blending classic influences with contemporary styles.

Venues across the city will again play a central role, from Cork Opera House and The Everyman to Cyprus Avenue, Live at St. Luke’s, The Kino, and The Liquid Lounge. The Music Trail will once more transform Cork’s pubs, bars and side streets into live music hubs, with pop-up gigs, late-night sessions, and spontaneous performances.

While many events on the trail are free, headline shows are ticketed, and organisers are urging visitors to plan ahead to avoid disappointment.

Beyond the music, the festival vibe is what keeps crowds coming back. Expect bustling streets, outdoor performances, and even boat cruises! The event is known for its mix of local and international acts, its welcoming atmosphere, and the fact that Cork City truly comes alive during the long weekend.

For those heading down, it’s worth keeping a few things in mind. Plan your itinerary early, wear layers for the chilly autumn evenings, and try to stay close to the city centre for easy access to venues. The Music Trail is especially worth exploring — many of the most memorable performances happen off the main stage.

Running from October 23rd to 27th, the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival 2025 is once again set to be one of Ireland’s biggest cultural weekends — a celebration of music, creativity, and Cork’s unmistakable charm.
