A man in his 30s has been found dead at the Love is a Stranger mini-music festival at Ballyvolane House in Castlelyons, Co Cork.
A post-mortem is to be carried out after the man's body was found in a tent at the music festival early yesterday morning.
According to CorkBeo, emergency services were alerted immediately, however it is understood that he was declared dead at the scene.
"Gardaí were alerted to a medical emergency concerning an individual at a festival event in Ballyvolane, Co Cork shortly after 11:30am this morning Sunday 19th July 2026. A male in his 30s was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem will be arranged," a Garda spokesperson said via CorkBeo.
In a statement addressing the tragic incident, the festival said that they were "absolutely devastated" to discover the death of an attendee.
"Our thoughts are with the individual's family, friends, and loved ones at this extremely difficult time. We are assisting An Garda Síochána and the emergency services in every way possible, and will not comment further while their inquiries are ongoing," the festival said via RTE.
"Out of respect for those affected, today's closing concert has been cancelled. We would like to thank the emergency services, our crew, volunteers and attendees and hosts for their support and understanding," the statement continued.
