The family and friends of Tina Satchwell will hold a vigil in her memory this evening in her native town of Fermoy, at 6pm.

This follows a vigil which was held yesterday in Youghal, where she had lived.

Parish priest Bill Bermingham read a message from Ms Satchwell’s family during the gathering yesterday at the Mall beach, near her home.

"There are no words to describe the pain in our hearts right now. Tina, if we knew the last time we met was going to be our last; we would have hugged you extra tight.

"She would put a smile on everybody's face. She loved positivity. Everyone who loved and knew her will cherish the moments they spent with you.

"Fly high our angel; you will always be in our hearts," the message said.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Father Bermingham also extended thoughts and prayers to the family.

Ms Satchwell was reported missing in 2017 by her husband, Richard.

Her remains were discovered at their home in Youghal last week after an extensive search by Gardaí.

Richard Satchwell has now been charged with her murder.
