Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal hit-and-run incident in Balbriggan on Monday night that claimed the life of a man in his 20s.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Railway Street shortly after 9pm on 23 June, after a pedestrian was struck by a car. The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.
Despite efforts by emergency responders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The area remains sealed off this morning as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a full examination. Local traffic diversions are currently in place.
Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has camera footage from the area, including dash-cam or mobile phone recordings, to come forward.
