Offiicials are expected to be questioned about their recent statement that former Director General Dee Forbes was the only person who could have known that the recent figures published for the former Late Late Show presenter were wrong.

This meeting is to be attended by the interm Director General Adrian Lynch, and the current chairperson of the RTÉ Board Siún Ní Raghallaigh. Ms Forbes will not attend the hearing due to medical concerns.

Officials working for the broadcaster have also faced calls from politicians for clarity on several unanswered questions, while adding that a full disclosure is also required.

The Government is also expected to announce details regarding the terms for a full review into governance and culture at RTÉ by the end of the week.

The RTÉ Board have also submitted a second Grant Thornton report, dealing with the period between 2017 to 2020. A report which is "expected to be finished in the next four weeks".

The committee hearing will take place at 1.30pm, with officials expected to face tough questioning.
