Niall Horan’s four upcoming Dublin concerts will take place as planned next week, but fans are being urged to prepare for significant travel disruption as the city introduces extensive security measures for two major European political summits.

The Mullingar-born singer is due to perform at 3Arena on 9, 10, 12 and 13 November as part of his Dinner Party Live On Tour. The venue has confirmed to RTÉ that all four shows will proceed as scheduled, despite the security operation surrounding the European Political Community summit and an informal meeting of EU leaders.

Doors will open at 6.30pm each evening, with performances expected to begin at 7pm.

The European Political Community summit will take place on Thursday, 12 November, followed by the informal meeting of EU leaders on Friday, 13 November. Both events will be held at the Convention Centre Dublin, just a short distance from 3Arena.

While the concert venue is located outside the security cordon, restrictions on roads and public transport are expected to cause considerable disruption for concert-goers.

North Wall Quay will be closed to east-west traffic from 10 to 13 November. However, motorists will still be able to reach 3Arena using Seville Place, Sheriff Street Upper, East Wall Road and the Tom Clarke Bridge.

Public transport arrangements will also be affected. Luas services will operate normally for Horan’s concert on Tuesday, 10 November. However, on Thursday and Friday, Red Line trams will terminate at Connolly, with no services operating to The Point stop ahead of the concerts.

Fans travelling by Luas on either date are advised to walk from Connolly to 3Arena using the designated pedestrian route. A limited number of special Luas services will operate from The Point after each show.

Pedestrian access along North Wall Quay will also be restricted on 12 and 13 November. Concert-goers will instead be directed along alternative routes via Amiens Street, Seville Place, Spencer Dock Bridge, Sheriff Street Upper and North Wall Avenue.

Several Dublin Bus routes serving the north quays and city centre will also face diversions between 10 and 13 November.

An Garda Síochána and Transport for Ireland have said they are working to minimise disruption, while urging fans to check travel updates before setting off and allow plenty of extra time for their journeys.

Horan’s Dublin dates form part of his Dinner Party Live On Tour, supporting his latest album, Dinner Party.
