Liz Kavanagh has shared the difficult news that she's been moved to hospice care amid her battle with colon cancer.

The Galway woman, who got engaged to her love, Kieran O Malley, in October 2025, was first diagnosed with cancer in October 2024.

Unfortunately, Liz has been told by doctors that her cancer has spread, and there's nothing further they can do for her.

'I just have to be kept comfortable now and try and live as many good days as we can until the inevitable strikes.'

'I just wanted to let you all know what was happening, because a lot of people are messaging in the background and DMing me and asking me when I'm getting out of hospital, or, you know, how I'm feeling or how's the medication working,' she said of the outpouring of support she's received from her followers.

'I don't want to be lying to you. At this point, the medication's not working, it's all about pain relief and resting.

Liz is hoping to feel strong enough to return home next week for a couple of hours, but 'ultimately, I'll be sleeping in the hospice, because they are the only way I can get fed at the moment. I can't eat normal food, and they're giving me TPN at nightime'.

EVOKE spoke to Liz's uber-proud fiancé, Kieran, who commended his beautiful bride-to-be's 'powerful' social media statement.

He told us: 'The bravery she has shown throughout this difficult time has been absolutely incredible, and the support we've received has just been a testament to the person she is.

'She's such an incredible person, and people have been genuinely incredible. One friend rang the other day and said, "What's your address? I'm sending over two cleaners to your house." And people just cannot do enough for us. It has been amazing.'
