Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus causes a build up of fluid in the brain, commonly affecting people over the age of 60, according to reports.
Alexis Roderick Joel, wife of singer/songwriter, Billy Joel, has shared a fresh update regarding the health of her husband, following his Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus diagnosis.
The post read: "Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritising his health. He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage", the statement added.
"I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding".
Now, the Piano Man singer's wife Alexis has taken to Instagram to share a positive update regarding her husband's health. The couple who have been married since 2015, share two daughters Della Rose and Remy Anne.
"Thank you for the outpouring of love and support", Alexis wrote via Billy Joel's official account.
She continued: "We are so grateful for the wonderful care and swift diagnosis we received. Bill is beloved by so many, and to us, he is a father and husband who is at the center of our world. We are hopeful for his recovery. We look forward to seeing you all in the future".
Elsewhere, Billy Joel's daughter Alexa, whose mother is model Christine Brinkley, called her father the "strongest and most resilient man", while quoting lyrics to his song 'Lullabye' (Goodnight My Angel)', adding "The music continues".
"My dad is the strongest and most resilient man I’ve ever known … and he’s entirely committed to making a full recovery with ongoing physical-therapy treatments as he continues to regain his strength", she added. "The genuine care, empathy, and concern from everyone means so much to him … it means a lot to me, too".
"We love you and we got you, Pop! I just wanted to thank you all for the beautiful outpouring of love and support amid the recent news of my father's health diagnosis.
