Céline Dion has officially joined TikTok and is making waves.

This comes as the singer shared a short video on the site earlier this week, stating her commitment to sharing more material from her account. The video shows her wearing a black sweatshirt with 'CELINE' emblazoned on the front.

"My name is Céline. How old am I? I've got kids", Dion began.

The singer then went on to say that her three sons inspired her to join the platform: "We have to get you on TikTok", she said while referring to them.

She signed off by adding: "On TikTok? I've heard that before. Suddenly I'm becoming cool. Céline Dion is cool. That's amazing. TikTok, here I come. Ciao".

In the caption, Céline Dion also insisted that she will have a very hands-on approach when it comes to sharing her content via her TikTok account.

She wrote: "They told me, 'Céline, it's time...' I asked, 'Time for what?' Turns out... something completely new. My team then said they'd handle everything, handed me back my phone, and then quietly disappeared. So here I am, learning how this TikTok world works... one video at a time! Thank you for being here, I'm glad we're here together".

News of this comes months after one of Dion's iconic hits, 'My Heart Will Go On' celebrated its 28th anniversary.

Released in 1997, the song was the soundtrack to James Cameron's Titanic, starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet. It debuted at No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, remaining there for two weeks. It also remained at top spot on the Hot Airplay for 10 weeks. The track also sold between 15 and 18 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling singles of all time.

My Heart Will Go On also garnered the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1998, winning multiple Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. More on this here.

Earlier this month, Dion also took to Instagram to wish her fans a Happy New Year.

"As we welcome this New Year, I want to take a moment to send you all my love. May this year bring you good health, happiness, and peace in your heart," the 57-year-old commented. "I hope you find laughter in the little things, strength in the hard times, and joy in the memories you create with those you love".

To finish, Céline thanked fans for "keeping me in your hearts".

She added: "You are always in mine. From my family to yours, I just want to wish you, a Happy New Year".
