Cyndi Lauper’s farewell wasn’t quite the final curtain she made it sound like. Just weeks after wrapping up her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour with a star-studded blowout at the Hollywood Bowl, complete with guest appearances from icons like Joni Mitchell and Cher, Lauper has announced that she’s coming back to the stage in 2026. And this time, she’s doing things differently.

The pop legend has revealed plans for her first-ever Las Vegas residency, Cyndi Lauper: Live in Las Vegas, with five shows scheduled at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace across April and May 2026. It’s a surprise twist after Lauper had told fans she was ready to slow down and step away from the relentless travel grind. “I’m not doing the trains, planes, and automobiles anymore,” she said when the farewell tour began. “I’m strong now, but I don’t know what I’m going to be like in four years. I wanted a chance to just do this when I’m feeling strong and, you know, celebrate with people.”

This residency, a stationary celebration rather than a globe-trotting marathon, is a clear compromise between the farewell she promised and the music she still wants to share. Tickets go on pre-sale on October 8 for fans who pre-register, with a Live Nation pre-sale on October 9 and general sale beginning October 10.

Adding to the sense of occasion, Lauper will arrive in Vegas as a newly minted Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, joining the class of 2025 alongside Bad Company. She has long credited the British rockers with kickstarting her career: “My first gig as a lead singer, not a background singer, was singing one of their songs,” she revealed.

The residency’s dates, April 24, 25, 29, and May 1 and 2, suggest this is more than just an epilogue to her farewell. It’s a carefully considered reinvention of how she wants to perform as she enters this next chapter.

For an artist who helped redefine pop in the 1980s and built a career on defying expectations, it’s fitting that even her farewell wouldn’t stick. Cyndi Lauper is still here, still strong, and still determined to make sure girls, and everyone else, just wanna have fun.
