Jessie J has promised to beat breast cancer in an emotional speech at the Summertime Ball, this was her last performance before undergoing treatment for her cancer.
The pop singer took to the stage at Capitals Summertime Ball, that took place at Wembley Arena, stating that this would be her last show before she has surgery. She said, "I feel so proud to be feeling okay, to be this honest person where you say what you feel, and this being my last show before I go and have surgery...This is the most special thing and I’m so grateful for this life, for you guys, for my career, my son, my partner, my parents, my family, my band, my crew, my people."
The 37 year old singer, best known for her hit song 'Price Tag', revealed on Instagram in June 2025 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She stated in this post that she was "going back and forth" over discussing her diagnosis publicly. However, she made the decision to make it public to help her process her diagnosis and show solidarity to those also going through cancer treatment. She says "I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories."
She went on to explain that she recieved the news of her diagnosis after the release of her most recent single "No Secrets", and that she will be inactive online for a short while due to her diagnosis. Although, Jessie J emphasised in her Instagram post that it was an early diagnosis of breast cancer, as she says in her emotional Instagram video "Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding onto the word early."
The London born singer has dealt with ill health throughout her life, as she reportedly was diagnosed with a heart condition at age eight, suffered from a minor stroke at age 18 and had briefly gone deaf in 2020. Whilst she is battling breast cancer, she continues to enthusiastically and energetically promote her new single "No Secrets".
