Kate Hudson Sings 'California Dreamin'' In New Promo Video For 2028 Summer Olympics

New promo video for 2028 Summer Olympics features Kate Hudson singing 'California Dreamin''.

As the Winter Olympics closes its curtains, NBCUniversal have begun their marketing campain for the 2028 Summer Olympics. During the closing ceremonies of the Milan-Cortina games, NBC debuted a two minute promotional video for the Summer games in Los Angeles. The promo video featured Hudson performing a rendition of the iconic Mama & Papas 'California Dreamin''.

Hudson shared the promo video to her Instagram, she wrote: "Built on California dreams, powered by Olympic and Paralympic champions. #LA28." Her video received a flood of love and support in the comment section of the post, one fan wrote: "Kate, this was the PERFECT way to end the amazing Closing Ceremonies in Italy and hand off to Los Angeles. You’ve always been our perfect California Girl ♥️🤩." Another fan wrote: "Bravooo!!!! Beautiful voice! Beautiful remake of that song. Goosebumps!!!!! California rising up! 👌👏👍."

The video features athletes carrying their gear, skaters pulling off tricks, a paralympic athlete sprinting on blades, along with a teaser of some of the new events for LA 28. Athletes featuring in the video are BMX rider Perris Benegas, gymnast Jordan Chiles, beach volleyball player Megan Kraft, among others.

NBCUniversal CMO for television & streaming, Jenny Storms said in a statement: “As the world gathers in Milan to close one Olympic chapter, LA28 Dreamin’ opens the door to what’s next, with LA28 Dreamin’, we wanted to create a moment that feels both iconic and forward‑looking."
