Lewis Capaldi has come roaring back into the music industry in a big way, after securing this week's Official Number One single with new single, 'Survive'.
Within a week of its release, the song has shifted 68,500 chart units in its opening week, including 4 million streams, surpassing Capaldi's previous bets of 56,000 units shifted from his 2022 hit, Forget Me. This marks the biggest opening week of Capaldi's career so far.
Along with this, Survive has also secured the biggest opening week of any No1 single in 2025 so far, surpassing Sabrina Carpenter's track, Manchild.
Reacting to this, Lewis Capaldi said: “Survive is this week’s UK Number 1, and I want to say a massive thank you to everybody who’s been streaming it, downloading it – it really means the world".
He continued: “I’ve been away for a little while, and to come back to this outpouring of love and support has been absolutely incredible. I can’t thank everybody enough for all the kind words since Glastonbury – and now this! It’s been the best week of my life".
“I hope you all continue to enjoy the song, it means a lot to me".
Elsewhere, Lewis Capaldi's signature track, 'Someone You Loved', has also returned to the Official Singles Chart, having skyrocketed by 115%. It was also announced that sales from his 2019 album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent increased by a remarkable 198%, as it also returned to the Official Albums Chart Top 20.
This comes after Lewis Capaldi made an emotional return to the Glastonbury stage, with this year marking his first live performances since 2023. On stage, Capaldi performed Survive and Someone You Loved. See footage of these performances and our report here.
