Mariah Carey will perform on a floating stage at the Amazon Rainforest next week.
The singer is to play live at the , Amazônia Live – Today and Always’ in order to raise awareness to the ongoing climate crisis. She will perform on a unique floating stage on the Guamá River, raising awareness to the ongoing efforts to help to preserve the rainforest.
As part of a visual ode of the importance to protect the natural world, Carey will perform with the Amazon sunset providing the backdrop. This was inspired by the region's symbolic, the Victoria Amazonica.
“With the conference taking place in November, ” organisers said, “Amazônia Live – Today and Always with Mariah Carey spotlights the need to keep the forest standing by protecting its indigenous peoples, encouraging the bioeconomy, restoring degraded lands, and reforesting – thus contributing to the global challenge of reducing carbon emissions".
Carey will perform at this venue, alongside opening acts showcasing the local culture of Pará, including acts Dona Onete, Zaynara, and Joelma Gaby Amarantos.
This takes place just two months ahead of the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, drawing attention to the importance of protecting this natural world.
Airing for an exclusive TV special, this show will be broadcasted nationwide in Brazil.
Elsewhere, it was also announced that a free concert would be held by Brazilian singer, Ivete Sangalo on September 20, bringing the conservation message to more than 40,000 fans at the Mangueirao football stadium.
