Sony Pictures UK has unveiled the first official images from its highly anticipated Beatles biopic series, using an appropriately nostalgic medium. The first-look photos were shared via postcards distributed to the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), the renowned institution co-founded by Paul McCartney, offering fans an intimate and symbolic introduction to the project.

The reveal arrives shortly after Barry Keoghan, who will portray Ringo Starr, debuted a distinctly Beatles-era mop-top haircut at the London premiere of his upcoming film Crime 101 earlier this week. The transformation quickly sparked excitement online, adding momentum to the long-awaited biopic series.

The ambitious project is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sam Mendes’ Neal Street Productions, produced in association with Apple Corps. Mendes is producing alongside Neal Street’s Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor, as well as Alexandra Derbyshire, marking one of the most significant authorized cinematic undertakings in the band’s history.

The Beatles will be portrayed by a high-profile cast: Paul Mescal stars as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. The project has also confirmed several major supporting roles. Mia McKenna-Bruce will appear as Maureen “Mo” Starkey, Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, and Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd.

Additional supporting cast members include David Morrissey, Leanne Best, James Norton, Harry Lloyd, Bobby Schofield, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill, Arthur Darvill, and Adam Pally, rounding out an ensemble that reflects the expansive world surrounding the Fab Four.

Sony Pictures previously announced in April 2025 that the biopic will be released as four individual films, each told from the perspective of a different Beatle—an unprecedented approach that aims to explore the band’s story through four distinct personal lenses. The scripts are being written by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan, Jack Thorne, and Mendes himself.

The four-film Beatles biopic series is currently slated for release in April 2028.

Fans can now get their first glimpse of Mescal, Keoghan, Quinn, and Dickinson as the Fab Four through the newly revealed images—marking the beginning of what promises to be one of the most ambitious music biopics ever produced.
