At their first show from their much anticipated reunion tour, Oasis paid a hugely emotional tribute to Liverpool player Diogo Jota, who tragically died in a car crash this week.
Liverpool forward Jota tragically died in a car crash while travelling with his brother Andre Silva, who also died in the accident. The pair were travelling in Zamora, Spain.
"The Portuguese Football Federation and the entire Portuguese football community are devastated by the deaths of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva in Spain this morning", the Portuguese Football Federation said.
"Diogo Jota was not only a fantastic player with almost 50 caps for the national team, but also an extraordinary person who was respected by all his team-mates and opponents. He had a contagious joy and was a reference point in his own community".
Last night, Oasis played the opening night of their much anticipated reunion tour, performing a live cover of 'Live Forever'.
While this performance was taking place, Jota's Liverpool shirt number number was emblazoned on the screen, which was met which a major round of applause from the 75,000 in attendance.
On the night, Oasis played 'Live Forever' in tribute to Jota, where the Gallaghers and co also saw the band perform a string of hits including, 'Morning Glory', Half The World Away', 'Stand By Me', and 'Supersonic'. This set saw Oasis perform on a stage together for the first time since they broke up in 2009, following a backstage brawl in Paris.
