Tickets for the 2027 Ryder Cup will go on sale this Friday.
The prestigious event, the 100th anniversary edition, will take place at Adare Manor, co Limerick from September 13-19 next year, with prices set At €499 per day, with the Irish ticket window operating on a first-come first-serve basis.
Practice day tickets for Tuesday and Wednesday September 14 and 15 will start from €89, while Thursday tickets, including the opening ceremony are priced at €179. It was also confirmed that under 16s can attend these practice days for just €20 on Tuesday and Wednesday and €30 on Thursday.
Elsewhere, for those unable to get a ticket, the global ticket ballot for fans from the rest of the world will open on Wednesday, June 3 under the same price structure.
While the €499 price may appear steep for fans, it does not appear quite so shocking when you consider the $750 fans would have had to fork out to attend the Ryder Cup in Bethpage in New York last year.
Ryder Cup Europe have also announced that there will be no dynamic pricing, which means that fans will not suddenly find a price hike when they come purchase their tickets later this year.
When it comes to iconic sporting events, the Ryder Cup is among the best, including the Masters, the Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup, Olympic Games and Wimbledon.
Organisers also expect one third of the overall attendance to be from the island of Ireland.
One thing is for sure, Europe are surely set for a much more wholesome reception from fans at this year's event than they did in New York.
Last year saw a number of golfers from Europe, including recent back-to-back Masters champion Rory McIlroy on the receiving end of abuse from attendees. In fact, McIlroy revealed that his wife Erica Stoll was struck by a beer bottle during the event. More on this story here.
