The Cork Camogie team will return to the Rebel County today for a special homecoming, following their victory over Galway in the All Ireland final in Croke Park yesterday.
This comes after they defeated last year's champions by the narrowest of margins on a 2-14 to 0-19 score line, in a gripping and thrilling decider at Croke Park, thanks to second half goals from Saoirse McCarthy and Orlaith Cahalane, which saw them win back the O'Duffy Cup, having lost out to the Tribeswomen in last year's showpiece.
The game also took place in from of 33,419 at Jones' Road, a record crowd for a Camogie final.
Following a visit to Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street, with children, parents and medical staff getting the chance to see the O'Duffy Cup, and meet with the players and management, the Cork Camogie will then get a train back to Leeside this afternoon, expected to arrived at Kent Station at around 5.30pm.
Following this, the team will travel on board an open-top bus to Grand Parade, arriving at approximately 6pm.
The celebrations will kick off on Grand Parade, near Cork City Library at 5pm, with Finbarr McCarthy as master of ceremonies, and music from Ken Perrott.
The homecoming event is being organised by the Cork County Board, supported by Cork City Council.
Speaking about this, a spokesperson for the county board encouraged fans to bring their flags, noise and colour as they look to give the team the homecoming they deserve, after winning their fourth All Ireland title in five years.
"We couldn't be prouder of the incredible efforts, commitment and dedication shown by every player and member of the management team", they said. "Now it's time for the people of Cork to come together and give our champions the homecoming they truly deserve".

The public have been warned that some local traffic restrictions will be in place along the route to facilitate the team's arrival, and those attending the event are urged to arrive early. They are also asked to cooperate with security personnel and stewards on duty for the day and evening in terms of health and safety to assist with managing the large crowds.
