Aer Lingus will introduce seven brand-new routes from Dublin and Cork this summer, offering customers the chance to explore some of Europe’s most charming destinations.

From Dublin, Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Emerald Airlines, will commence new services to Asturias, Oslo, Tours, Inverness and Montpellier, ensuring customers have more choice this summer. New flights will also commence from Cork to Nice, the jewel of the French Riviera, and to the historic Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela.

Aer Lingus Introduces 7 New Destinations For Summer 2026_2Asturias is often described as northern Spain’s best kept secret. The region boasts breathtaking emerald valleys, rugged cliffs, and coastal charm – with over 200 beaches waiting to be explored.

Another option for outdoor enthusiasts is Oslo, the thriving capital of Norway, which is famous for its museums, architecture and the epic Oslofjord.

Adventure and history lovers alike will be spoilt for choice in Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, a region rich in heritage and now famous as the home of The Traitors UK series.

For those seeking a taste of French culture, a new flight from Dublin to Montpellier in southern France provides easy access to the historical city and the rustic villages and towns nearby and also a new Aer Lingus Regional service to Tours, the heart of France’s Loire Valley.

Additionally, Aer Lingus is introducing a new route from Cork to Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur. Nice boasts chic boutiques and vibrant nightlife, while the tranquil villages of Villefranche-sur-Mer and Èze are within easy reach.

Customers from Cork will also be able to fly direct to Santiago de Compostela, which serves as a convenient gateway to the iconic Camino de Santiago. As a standalone destination, the city’s Old Town (Casco Antiguo), a UNESCO world heritage site, is brimming with old world charm, impressive architecture, and fascinating history.

The airline’s seasonal Cork-Prague route has also been extended to a year-round service.

As always, customers flying to Europe and the UK with Aer Lingus can enjoy significant savings, as every fare type includes a 10kg bag as standard, which can be checked in free of charge or carried on board by paying a fee.

Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer said: “Our summer 2026 schedule is our most diverse yet, introducing a carefully curated selection of charming destinations. From the urban culture of Oslo to the awe-inspiring scenery of Asturias, Aer Lingus has a destination that is sure to appeal to appeal to every type of explorer."

New European routes taking off from Dublin:

Asturias: Tucked between the Cantabrian Sea and the Picos de Europa mountains, Asturias in northern Spain is a natural wonderland that is home to over 200 beaches.  History lovers will appreciate Oviedo’s UNESCO-listed pre-Romanesque architecture, while foodies can savour the region’s unique cuisine. Flights will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, from 2nd May, 2026.

Oslo: From its sleek architecture to its serene fjords, Oslo offers a combination of urban energy and natural beauty. Must-sees include the city’s iconic Opera House, the Munch Museum and a visit to the Oslofjord islands for a day of swimming and relaxation. Flights will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 2nd May.

Montpellier: Boasting 300 days of sunshine each year, Montpellier offers a rich architectural heritage. Notable landmarks include the city's very own Arc de Triomphe, Porte du Peyrou, which was constructed for Louis XIV. Other highlights feature the impressive Place de la Comédie with its Three Graces fountain. Flights to Montpellier will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, starting from 19th May 2026.

Tours: Tours offers sunny river walks, Loire castles, vibrant markets, wine tastings, outdoor cafés, festivals, and effortless French charm everywhere nearby. Operated by Aer Lingus Regional and commencing 6th June, the seasonal service will operate once weekly until 29th August on Saturdays, providing customers with direct access to one of France’s most picturesque and culturally rich regions.

Inverness: A new Aer Lingus Regional year-round service between Dublin and Inverness will commence from 21 May 2026, the new service will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. The flights will provide passengers with direct access to the most dramatic landscapes of the Highlands, with the region now finding further fame as the iconic filming location of The Traitors UK and the world-renowned Harry Potter Jacobite steam train.

New European routes taking off from Cork:

Nice: Set on the glittering Côte d’Azur, Nice is brimming with glamour and timeless elegance. Stroll down the chic Promenade des Anglaise or explore the bustling Old Town (Vieux Nice) with its colourful streets and lively cafés. Foodies will be Flights will operate twice a week, on a Wednesday and Saturday, from 2nd May 2026.

Santiago de Compostela: A gateway to the legendary Camino de Santiago trail, Santiago de Compostela is steeped in history and spiritual significance. For visitors, there’s so much to do and see – from exploring the Romanesque and Gothic architecture to tasting the region’s culinary specialities in the local tapas bars. Flights will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, from 1st June 2026, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays in October 2026.
