Two new Taco Bell restaurants are set to open at Applegreen service stations before the end of the year, continuing the fast-food giant’s growing presence in Ireland.

The popular chain made its Irish debut earlier this year with the opening of its first outlet at Applegreen Junction 6 on the M3 in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath. Now, Applegreen’s M1 Lusk Northbound service station in Dublin and its Ballincollig site in Cork have been confirmed as the next locations to welcome the Tex-Mex favourite.

Both service stations are currently undergoing major refurbishments, which will see the addition of new M&S Food shop-in-shop outlets alongside Crafted Kitchen and Deli operations at each site. A brand-new Braeburn Café will also open at the Lusk Northbound location.

Applegreen’s Republic of Ireland Managing Director, Seamus Stapleton, said the upgrades reflect the company’s commitment to offering top-quality roadside experiences.

“We’re delighted to transform our existing sites at Lusk Northbound on the M1 and at Ballincollig in Cork with these new brands and significant in-store enhancements,” said Stapleton. “Our goal is to offer our customers passionate roadside hospitality by partnering with brands such as Taco Bell and Marks & Spencer, as well as enhancing our own brand offering with Braeburn Café and Crafted. These enhancements are sure to delight our customers and provide an even better experience.”

The two new restaurants will bring the number of Taco Bell outlets operated by Applegreen in Ireland to five, following the success of the Dunshaughlin opening in September.

Applegreen invests up to €50 million annually into Irish businesses and has outlined further plans to expand both its Braeburn Café brand and its partnership with M&S Food.

The opening of the first Taco Bell at Dunshaughlin was part of Applegreen’s wider €1 billion expansion plan, which aims to grow its operations across Ireland, the UK, and the US over the next five years.
