Hundreds of fans who were waiting for their idol in the street outside her hotel broke in song, and Céline followed. She kept singing for a good minute, delighting fans.
As she says goodbye, the crowd thanks her for allowing this moment to happen. The emotion is palbable.
The spontaneous performance comes as Céline prepares to return to the stage in Paris for a major new residency.
The singer is currently in the French capital after travelling from her home near Las Vegas, with her visit coming ahead of the start of her residency at Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre.

Céline is due to perform 26 shows between September and May next year, marking her first concert series since she was forced to cancel her Courage world tour in 2023.
The tour was cancelled after Céline revealed that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological condition which can cause severe muscle stiffness and spasms.
The diagnosis forced her to step back from performing while she focused on her health and recovery.

She has made a number of public appearances since then, including an emotional return to the stage at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where she performed Hymne à l'amour from the Eiffel Tower.
Her upcoming Paris residency represents another major step in her return to live performance.
And judging by the reaction from fans outside her hotel, there will be plenty of people waiting to welcome her back.
