The National Lottery has this afternoon confirmed the highest ever winner of an Irish National Lottery game has come forward, with the winning ticket sold in County Cork.
At this point, it says its priority is to give the winner the "necessary time and space to make arrangements and let this life-changing news sink in."
It adds, "no other details will be revealed at this stage, however, the name of the winning Cork shop will be announced tomorrow."
The winning numbers in Tuesday night's draw were: 13, 22, 23, 44, 49, and the two Lucky Stars were 3 and 5.
National Lottery CEO Cian Murphy says "with such a big win, we have procedures to follow, but we will reveal the winning location as soon as we can."
He adds, "while this is a massive win, it can come as a shock to a winner and we advise them to stay calm, and get independent legal and financial advice."
Tuesday night's mind-blowing €250 million EuroMillions Jackpot reached its maximum cap on Friday, June 6th, meaning the prize could not grow any further.
The lucky winner has become the 18th winner of the EuroMillions in Ireland, and will take the title of the largest ever win in Ireland.
It eclipses the €175 million record for the largest cheque presented when Reilly's Daybreak in The Naul, County Dublin sold the winning ticket for Ireland’s then-largest EuroMillions win in February 2019.
