Four people have died in a devastating weekend on Irish roads following a series of fatal crashes in Donegal and Dublin.
The latest tragedy occurred in Loughlinstown, South Dublin, where a woman aged in her 20s was killed after being struck by a car on the N11 Bray Road at around 11.50pm on Saturday night.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road remained closed on Sunday morning to allow for a technical examination by Garda forensic investigators, while local diversions were put in place.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses or road users with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from the area around the time of the collision to come forward.
Separately, a man in his 20s died following a single-vehicle crash on the R238 at Ardmore, Muff, Co Donegal on Saturday night.
The collision happened between 9.30pm and 10pm, with the driver and sole occupant of the car taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry in a critical condition before later succumbing to his injuries.
The road remains closed for a forensic examination, with diversions operating via Muff Village and Iskaheen.
The latest fatalities bring the number of people killed on Irish roads on Saturday alone to four.
Earlier in the day, two men lost their lives in a separate two-vehicle collision on the N15 at Birchhill, Co Donegal, shortly after 2pm.
The victims have been named locally as 30-year-old Caoilan Bushe from the Donegal Town area and 27-year-old Leon Shovlin from the Glenties area.
Both men died at the scene.
Four other people were injured in the crash, including a man and woman in their 20s and a man and woman in their 40s. Gardaí said their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, and they are being treated at Letterkenny University Hospital.
The N15 remained closed as Garda forensic collision investigators carried out an examination of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed either of the Donegal crashes, or anyone travelling in the areas with dash-cam footage, to contact investigating officers.
The grim weekend means 63 people have now died on roads in the Republic of Ireland so far this year, including 18 pedestrians.
Meanwhile, in the North, a woman was left with life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle collision on the Bridge Road in Dunloy, Co Antrim, at around 7.10pm on Saturday evening.
