The opening date for Galway's new Normal store has been confirmed, with shoppers set to get their first look inside the new shop next month.

The Danish retailer recently announced plans to open at Eyre Square Shopping Centre, and has now revealed that the new store will officially open on Wednesday, September 2.

To celebrate the launch, Normal is also planning a number of giveaways for customers on opening day.

The retailer has announced that 1,000 goodie bags will be given away, while the first ten people in the queue will each receive a €30 gift card.

There will also be a chance for shoppers to win a pallet full of products by guessing its total value, with the person who gets closest taking home the entire prize.

Normal is known for selling well-known brands at low prices, with its stores stocking everything from skincare, makeup, haircare and personal care products to household essentials, snacks and drinks.

The retailer also sells a selection of international brands and regularly introduces new products, with the company describing a visit to its stores as a “treasure hunt”.

When the Galway opening was first announced, Normal said: “We’re excited to announce that Normal is opening at Eyre Square Shopping Centre.”

The retailer added: “The popular Danish retailer is known for offering well-known brands at surprisingly low prices, with everything from skincare, makeup, haircare and personal care products to household essentials, snacks, drinks and much more.”

The new Galway shop will be Normal's fifth Irish location.

The company already has stores in Cork and Mullingar, as well as two locations in Dublin.

Normal has not yet revealed any further details about the size of the new Galway store, but shoppers can expect a wide range of everyday products when the doors open on September 2.
