Gardaí have arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the death of another man in Co Leitrim last night.
This comes after a man aged in his 40s, was found unresponsive following reports of an incident at a house in Arderry near Craigallen shortly after 9pm last night. Emergency services treated the man at the scene, before he was pronounced dead a short time later. His body remains at the scene, which has been preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí have said that they are investigating "all the circumstances" which led to the man's death.
“Gardaí attached to the Sligo Leitrim Crime Functional Area have commenced an investigation into all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following an incident in County Leitrim on Thursday, 11th June 2026", a Garda spokesperson said.
It was also confirmed that a senior investigating officer is to lead the investigation, while a local coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been informed.
The investigations into this death remain ongoing.
