The crash, involving two cars, occurred on the Dromineer Road outside Nenagh at around 9pm last night.

The woman was declared dead at the scene and her body was removed to University Hospital Limerick.

The driver of the second vehicle was treated at the scene and taken to hospital.

The road has been closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.
