Taylor-Joy joined the series for the last two season and played the role of the villain Gina Gray where her character pushes her husband to take over the Shelby company and later conspires to kill Cillian Murphy's character, Tommy Shelby.
In a recent interview on the Late Night With Seth Myers Show, Taylor-Joy spoke about which of her characters her family gravitates towards. She explained that Peaky Blinders is huge in Argentina (where she grew up) and that it was potentially "the worst character I’ve ever played. My family loves it. Loves it.”
Taylor-Joy has starred in a number of films since her Peaky Blinders debut. She is best known for her roles in The Queen's Gambit, Emma, Last Night In Soho, The Menu and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
The actress has also been rumoured to be playing Joni Mitchell, she was questioned by host Craig Melvin on this. “You’re rumoured to be playing Joni Mitchell, speaking of through lines, one of the, arguably, most singularly important women in music over the last generation or so. Princess Peach, one of the most iconic women in gaming history. What’s the connection there?” he said.
“They’re both singular; you can’t touch them. They’re in a league of their own," Taylor-Joy responded.
The actress voices Princess Peach in the upcoming film, Super Mario Galaxy, which is set to be released on the 1st of April. Speaking on her role as Princess Peach, she said: “I was so touched by how strong she is and how cool. The fact that’s going to be a role model kids can have nowadays is unbelievable. I left feeling very inspired by her.”
Despite the huge amount of success she has acheived in her career, the actress revealed that all she wants is to "live on a farm", according to The Sun. “I want goats, chickens, ducks, horses — all of it. I want to work, come into the city when I want to, then disappear and ride all day," she said.
