Former US President Barack Obama has shared the annual list of favourite films, books and songs for 2025.
Obama shared this list on social media, adding the following message.
“As 2025 comes to a close, I’m continuing a tradition that I started during my time in the White House: sharing my annual lists of favorite books, movies, and music,” Obama shared. ”I hope you find something new to enjoy—and please send any recommendations for me to check out!".
This year's list featured Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra, Olivia Dean‘s Man I Need, Lady Gaga’s Abracadabra and and Rosalía’s Sexo, Violencia Y Llantas all featured on the list, which also included tracks by Chappell Roan The Giver, Bruce Springsteen Faithless, Drake Nokia, and Kendrick Lamar and SZA Luther.
Other tracks from Burna Boy with Travis Scott, Chance the Rapper, Jamila Woods, Victoria Noelle, and BLACKPINK also featured.
As for books, Barack Obama, included Zadie Smith's Dead Or Alive, Andrew Ross Sorkin's 1929, Brian Goldtone's There Is No Place For Us, Jill Lepore's We Are The People, Ian McEwan's What We Can Know among others.
In that list, Obama also included a book from his wife Michelle, while also acknowledging his obvious bias.

This is not the first time that the former president has shared his favourite playlist of content on social media.
In August 2024, Obama shared his summer playlist, which included tracks from household names like Charlie XCX, Billie Eilish, Beyoncé, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and Tyla among others. More on this story here.
